Final

In this paper I will talk about how The House and Henry are alike and different. In the first paragraph I will talk about the similarities of them. The second paragraph will talk about their differences.
Henry and The House both carry on in their lives oblivious of the fact that things have changed. The House in the beginning talks to the world like there is something to hear it, but really there is nothing but a few animals. Henry is similar to this in that he continues on with his life like his wife never got captured and possibly killed by the Indians. Also the house is very neat and tidy, keeping everything just the way it was left before its owners were killed. Henry, too is like that he tries to keep the house perfect just like his wife maybe because he thinks if he does she’ll come back. But as the time for Henry’s wife to arrive nears he becomes worried and frantic until he is drugged by the men. Just like Henry, The House, becomes frantic as it realizes it might be destroyed.
The two characters also have some huge differences. First, The House is just that a house and Henry is a human. Also, Henry knows the truth but just refuses to accept it. The House however, doesn’t comprehend the people that use to live there are dead. Henry has to be subdued every year or he would figure out his wife is dead but The House never figures it out.
In the end I think the house and Henry are much more similar than they seem at first. Both still try to live like they did before tragedy struck probably to block it out. Also they keep their houses similar, neat and tidy.

John in your thesis set-up tell the reader how the characters are alike and different and then in the body of your essay show this. Take your intro. one step further. You should also think about a hook that perhaps connects these stories to the real world.

Balance the stories in your discussion. In the 2nd paragraph you talk a lot about the Henry but very little of the house. These two things should be equal.

Finally, the differences - John don't discuss the obvious: The house is a house and Henry is a man. You're suppose to be giving insights here.
