The Cold Equations
Whose fault was it that Marilyn Lee Cross would have to die? The only person to blame is herself. She didn't understand at all what she was doing and her ignorance cost her her life. She snuck on the ship and should have known there would be conscequences but in her desire to see her brother she didn't stop to think that she wasn't only endangering herself but others as well. Because of Marilyn's added weight, the EDS wouldn't have enough fuel to land on the planet. This is due to the fact that fuel is tightly rationed on EDS's. Since she was putting herself and the people who needed the serum, that was being delivered by the EDS, at risk because of her ignorance, Marilyn Lee Cross should die.

Harrison Bergerson
Harrison Bergeron the story, is the exact opposite of freedom. When people are forced to handicap themselves just to make everyone equal, a country is no longer free. People like Harrison are taken away just because they are way above the average. People are forced to hide skills and beauty simply to make the average people feel fine. I don't even understand how a nation like this would stand up. No army because every one has to be made stupid and weak. I would hate to live in that kind of place. I wouldn't be able to enjoy life with a sack of lead hanging from my neck. No basketball, no sports of any kind, no mental challenges, I think I would go crazy. Parents who forget their sons just died because the government won't let them think. That's awful, like I said, I would go crazy.
